Imposter Advance Fee Loan Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Bradenton, FL, USA • May 16, 2023

I am pending a revised mortgage loan, we received a text message from a Mike Jones (fake name-he was Hindu) stating he had some mortgage information for us. I called the number (his direct number of 325-387-8486) and he identified himself as Loancare Agent. He proceeded to give me some new mortgage figures and told me all I had to do was pay some Escrow arrearrages for the amount of $1022. I spoke to him on a Friday and told him I would not have the money until Monday (5-15). He asked me to call him on Monday at 9am. I called on Monday and he them transferred me to a payment dept (again another Hindu), this person proceeded to tell me I would have to send a money order for $1000, I would have to purchase Money order, then before I filled it out, call him back to get the details that I had to put on the money order. At this point we felt this did not make sense, so I called my Loan Care office and gave them the details. They told me they would never do business that way and not to send the money. I never called back and blocked his number.
