I received an email about a job invitation to interview. It told me to download a chat platform (Telegram), and that my interview time is scheduled for a specific time frame the following day. I was skeptical, but went on the chat, the 'hiring manager' came on about 30 minutes late, but we started the chat, which was supposed to be an intro to the interview. After some back and forth (questions about the job, my abilities etc), he said he is impressed and has to go away to talk with his supervisor for about 10 minutes. My gut feeling told me 'bull', but regardless, I continued to play along. He came back with the 'good news' that I am hired. He then asked a few more questions, and that was 'the interview'. Then he said he would send me a check by FedEx with which I would purchase materials he would tell me. I knew right then and there that this is fake, but i said ok. Then he said I should 'report back to work' tomorrow morning at 9:00. I did, but he didn't show up (on this chat) until around 10:30. I started to tell him about my doubts and asked questions, and he said 'we went over this yesterday'. Anyway, I left the chat and then the envelop arrived, but honestly I'm afraid to open it for fear of perhaps Coronavirus on it!! I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I will go back once more to the chat and tell him that I have reported them to the BBB.
