Person made a facebook profile with pictures of a person I know. Added me as a friend then started up a conversation. Saying he got a grant and I am also on the list to get the grant. I needed to call a number and they would say I needed to pay a transfer fee. The normal scam. I would be talking to an attorney and everything is legit. I just need to pay the fees first because getting the $250,000 delivered to my door! After saying he had gotten $250,000 he then says he needs help with a fish tank that cost $2000 and needs a loan. Promises to pay it back once he gets back from his trip in Hawaii.

A woman I thought was a friend of mine, which proved later on worked with the scammer, told me about the IMF grant where she had got a grant for 50,000. so she gave me the lady's name and phone number, karen Karsten also calls herself Mary Karsten, she may even call by the name of Mary Nixon. I always had to pay by gift cards, and the fees were unending. this scam started on 7/25/2020-July 29th when I had no more money to send her. She would tell me UPS was coming with my money and never did make it, I lost a total of $5055.00 to this scam. By the friend that told me about it, I had no Idea she was working with the lady, I just thought it was a real deal. But all the time it was a scam.

IMF Grant call. She was foreign, broken English, accent. She asked for $2000. A friend of mine told me that my Facebook account was hacked because they were receiving IMs that looked like they were coming from me telling them they had been chosen for an IMF grant.

I was on Instagram, and got an IM from my friend, she said she got a grant. So I was to contact IMF - International Monetary Fund grant. They asked for $900 in gift cards for a $50,000 grant. Tommy Weathers was the grant manager. I sent a Walmart to Walmart to: Daryl Richard Spencer, New york, Jamaica, 11433. I bought an Amazon gift card for $500 at Walgreens, and a $400 Amazon gift card from CVS. Another name is Tony Chase, 676 Riverside Dr, Apt 9C, Brooklyn, NY 10031. The first conversation was to send money to Nigeria, Temitope Oyeneye, Abeokuta, Nigeria. Ogun, 21439. I sent a picture of the gift c, rds to the scammers. He wanted me to download an app called Nextplus. He had a heavy accent. He sent me a picture of a rich white guy, Tommy Weber, that was supposed to be him. He sent me an Affidavit of Claim. He said "we are legal" and "just pay the fee and get your money". Texting from Washington DC. They have got me for 1400.00. I ask for my money back but said I would lose everything if I don't continue.

A friend told me, via facebook, that my name was on a list for an IMF Grant. They said they got $150k - just given to them... they don't seem to want to answer questions only my friend would know the answer to. Asked her to call me. Nothing..

Someone I know and would trust messages me that I can get IMF Grant and text the t's a new empowerment program by the Federal government for all the citizens to claim their Grant money

I had received a fb message from an old church member asking how I was doing and then they proceeded to say they just receive a blessing and ask did I know about the imf grant. I explained no. Well they stated that they received some money today in the mail and for me to text this number of an attorney that handles the grant claims.

I texted the # 702 800-7945 that I thought was from a friend/co-worker I know ,from messenger off fb. This person had my friends picture from his messenger account and portrayed to be him. Telling me of a Gov. program where you can get grant $ to help with bills, debt, disabilities, retirement etc., that he-(my friend) had done it and was brought, to his front door-$150,000!! That "anyone" can apply and that he had the "Official # to text". I believed he "was" my friend that I've known for a long time, so I took it for legit. I even went and tried, several times to send the $1500. to them to pay for the "delivery, fee's and to process my claim. Thank God and Walmart for questioning me and looking out for me!! When the payment didn't go thru, I was instructed to break it up into 2 installments to 2 different locations, that's when I finally got suspicious and called my friend to question him about this. He had No idea what I was talking about and that he never heard of this, but that I was the 2nd person to call him and ask about it! I immediately stopped the transaction and got my $ refunded. But I am worried because I gave them alot of info., even a pic. of my drivers license! Please, please question All things that seem to good to be true, no matter Who it comes from, or who you think it's coming from!! I have printed out the msgs and will try to find out who will help me with this further.

Oh  Nancy Lynda Murdoch said she was from the IMF Grant and that we was approved for 30 thousand and we didn't see this come in because her Facebook website and everything looked decent and she said it would be here on 6-2-2018 and then she said 6-3-2018 and when today came she wanted more money from us and I told her no she's not getting nothing else she said we would not pay no more money and then turn around and wanted 200 more and I told her no

Sent me a message from a person I know stating they got 100,000 and wanted to give me the same opportunity. I contacted person who asked for money upfront to get my money. I was suspicious but they got my SSN

they are going thru facebook messenger hacking peoples accounts, text information to them name, address, age mar/sing phone email and occupation do have a car do you want check or cash, gives you all this information that you have a grant, had that his name was Don snow. none of my personal information was given
