So I was renewing my drivers license online because it was about to expire. I entered the website that the form from the Secretary of State sent to my residence, and entered my information and clicked the box that said terms of service without reading the eyestrain fine print. Which then brings up a downloaded form. At this point I realize this seems wrong, its a guide about how to renew your license. So on further investigation I realize that I was not on the SOS site. So I go through and renew my license on the official site. After that I get a notification in my email about a $22 charge on my account. It turned out somehow I bought a virtual 10 pg guide on renewing my license. This is a scam, I realize I am not going to get my money back, but its the principle of the matter. I went to the website the form gave me and I just figured the state was using an outside vendor. This should not happen to somebody else, I must have entered a typo that sent me to the wrong site which means that they have their hyperlinks set up in a way to redirect traffic to scam people out of their money.
