Printed out Illinois State car sticker renewal form and mailed filled out form and check, approximately 6 weeks before registration due date. About 1 week later, I received a text message, requesting “IL.GOV Action Required! Your driver’s license required to meet with our new regulation-compliant update. visit : ow.lysEDZ50DiX7f”

I was suspicious, since I had filled out the required renewal form and no drivers license information was required on the form.

Without taking any further action, I checked that my check had been posted, and received my new license plate in the mail yesterday, about two weeks after starting the renewal process, by mailing in the renewal form and check.

This I proves that the text message was a scam to try and get my drivers license number info.
