On March 23rd I was on Facebook and seen a post of some gazebo’s and other outside items. I went an read comments and seen some people purchasing and a few legit looking posts saying they received etc. so, I did it . I purchased a gazebo . I didn’t think much of it I purchase from other sites for items that aren’t marked up . I should say I purchased thru PayPal And although I only have used PayPal for people I know I have always heard if the item doesn’t come or wrong PayPal is great with helping you get your money back. Sad to say that’s quite the opposite. The next day I got an email from PayPal with a tracking number And prior to that google had sent me a email in the middle of the night that my account had been signed in under a different device etc. well I was in fact hacked. Nothing with my bank or really that I could see . I changed every password put alerts on my cards etc. then I open the email from PayPal and my tracking number is there and much to my surprise when I entered in the tracking number my Amazon tracking number pulled up with an item that was due to be delivered that same day. it was then I knew I had been scammed. Wow! What and how does this happen was all I could think. This is where the real fun began.. I reached out to PayPal and told them and they said had to wait to see if the item comes and I told them unless it’s coming by being dropped out of a plane to my yard today it will not be chomping ever. They talked their policy and I had to anxiously wait till they would allow me to file for a refund . I did that and ten days would have to wait to allow the scammer aka seller to responded to PayPal and on the 11th day I had to call them and ask for a update and they said we found in favor of the seller! I got very mad and asked so what investigative work did you PayPal do? They said she supplied a tracking number and thats enough. Did you look at the tracking number .no answer just we fished the dispute and found against you. Went immediately see on Facebook. Business name had I changed. Before all of this when I purchased this gazebo I had to create and account when I went to go back it said no user name has been found. When I went to look for this page again it was a new name and I went and left scam in every post. After seriously looking into the website the whole thing was wrong. Submitted all the information to paypal. Never thought I could have to do the investigation that PayPal should have done and in all reality they just needed to open the tracking number. A gazebo does not weigh 1 lb first off , 2nd usps will not deliver a 90 lb gazebo and the fact it states amazon tracking. I went back and forth with PayPal for two months when I finally demanded to speak to a supervisor and the customer service is horrible .I was angry and this person on the other side of the phone knew it and I told her don’t even tell me that the tracking numbers was looked at their was no investigation done and I wonder how much paypal has to doc with these scams? I read all the reviews and they all say the same thing sided with seller. I feel as if someone should investigate PayPal and see just how much involvement there is? The rep placed me on hold and came back and was shocked . She said I turned this over to my supervisor and we over turned the decision and refunded yours money . Just that quick it was back in my account. Shame on the big wigs of PayPal playing with customers Money. I work hard for my money and don’t get slot to spend so when this happened it hit harder because it was for my daughters 21st birthday and was out a gazebo and money. Please do not buy anything that you get that feeling about. The saying if it sounds to good to be true . Run away .. I noticed the business page had no customer service phone number, no address and then I went to click on the facebook and Instagram icons and they were not links. Spelling was off . The things we just look for quickly as we scan the page. I have learned a lesson hand it’s sad because a lot of small business use PayPal. I will not use them. I took all my information down. I have left my account active . Please be cautious . And someone look into PayPals involvement in scams.m
