I have been a member of this Facebook page, iHeart Cairn Terriers for months. I noticed other members were adopting puppies from Cairn puppy litters. My Husband and I decided that we would like one as well. I contacted the, “Breeder, Dianne Havens,” to inquire. This communication took place through Facebook messenger. She asked for my email address to send me a contract for the purchase of a Cairn puppy. I was instructed to complete the form and return the form through a scan/email. She stated that everything looked good and we could proceed. Next, she contacted me telling me in order to proceed and for her to hold the puppy she would need a deposit of $350.00. This amount seemed reasonable. I waited to hear from her again with instructions on how we would do this transaction. She asked me to send the $350.00 payment through Venmo to her Daughter’s Venmo account, “@Lexi-Green-64” so I did. Then the confusion began. They wanted me to send payment to an email account. At this point me & my husband we’re getting confused. We tried several ways to send the deposit. On Lexi Green’s Venmo account it would only allow us to send to the email account listed. So we did this and the transaction was complete. That was Thursday. I then contacted Dianne Havens back telling her that her Daughter, Lexi Green received the down payment of $350 and we would like to get the puppy Saturday. We were at this point making plans to drive from our home in Georgia to Villa Hills Kentucky to get the puppy. I informed Dianne Havens of our plan to get to her house around 1:00 Saturday. Then there was silence on Dianne’s end. I started contacting other members of this group asking them how their puppy purchase went buying from Dianne. Only one person responded back stating that she thought other people enjoyed their experience through the whole process in transacting with Dianne Haven’s. This woman’s name that responded back to me through Facebook Messenger is June Norton. I then sent a message to the Facebook page’s Monitor Annate Moore since I still had not heard back from Dianne Havens. I was worried about her. Annate informed me that Dianne had had an accident and lost her phone and was in a hospital. These people continued to pull at my heartstrings. After finally contacting Dianne and having her tell me that she was in the hospital after an accident I then felt the need to contact Annate Moore back to ask her what we should do. Since both my Husband and I had taken off work and boarded our 3 dogs we felt that somehow we really needed to figure out how to get this puppy. Annate Moore stepped in to, “help,” or so we thought. She portrayed herself as a honest person and needed the remainder of the balance in order to go get the puppy from Dianne Haven’s daughter, Lexi Green. We decided to use the Zelle App. I sent the $450.00 balance to Ed Leon screen name EDGUARDO which was Annate Moore’s husband. Annate then confirmed that all monies had been received. She told us that she would go get the puppy and meet us in Knoxville. We started our 3 1/2 hour trip with plans to meet at Sweet Pea’s Barbeque at 4:00 on Saturday, 5-13-2023. Annate was at this point texting me after I gave her my cell phone number. She stated then that there was a problem and that the puppy didn’t have the most important vaccine, Parvo. We both got upset, or so I thought. She said she was angry with Dianne and just wanted to help to get the puppy to me. However, she said that she had called her Vet and it would be $800 more to get the puppy fully examined and vaccinated. At this point I was beginning to get real skeptical. She was supposedly at Dianne Haven’s house with her daughter, Lexi Green. They even sent me a picture of Lexi putting the puppies crate together in preparation for the ride to Knoxville. I informed Annate that Lexi had received my $350.00 and Annate said that she could use that money to get the vaccine. The daughter Lexi then told Annate she only had $200.00 because she had to buy food stuff for the puppy. I told Annate that we just could not send anymore money. I also didn’t believe that a Vet would charge $800.00 for a vaccine. I told Annate to just bring us the puppy and I would take her to my Vet. She said great and would meet us at 4:00 in Knoxville Tennessee at Sweet Peas Barbecue. While my Husband and I were walking and sightseeing Knoxville in anticipation of meeting Annate with our puppy things began to spiral. Dianne out of the blue messaged me stating that the puppy had been turned over to the agency. What Agency, I asked?!?!!! Dianne then asked me for my address. I gave her my Post Office Box. Dianne then sent me a screen shot of a logistics company, ExpertLine Logistics informing me that everything was set up but that I would need to rent a special crate for the puppies safe arrival. I then exploded and realized what had just happened. We had been scammed. When I clicked on this picture of the logistics company it was blank. Dianne had ended the Facebook Messenger conversation.
