This online retailer emailed me to request images of my credit card (front and back with no information blocked out) to "verify" a PayPal transaction and also requested my bank or credit card statement. When I refused, they canceled the order - they clearly were only interested in getting my credit card data, as an image of a credit card is not a way to verify a transaction or a customer's identity.
