I received a call stating they were from Idaho Power and they had a work order to remove the meters at our business. She then gave me another number to call which was the same number she called from and a gentleman named Jonathan Vargas ext 113 answered the phone. Stating that we had not paid our power bill and he could not go back past 3 months once the account was flagged. He stated that he needed to take a one time payment to keep the power on. In the amount of $798.13. I needed to pay this by purchasing a Green Pak card. I then hung up on him.

Someone called and said they were a technician with Idaho Power and they were going to shut off power at our business location due to non payment. He gave me a work order # and a phone number to call to pay. I got off the phone with him and called Idaho Power directly. My account is fine and they confirmed it was a scam. I then called the phone # they gave me (208-901-7773 and my work order # 8046613). When it rings, it goes through the same automated prompts that it does when you call the real Idaho Power! It sounded legit!!! I talked to someone and played along for a bit...knowing it was a scam. I finally asked them if they felt bad for stealing money and they said no and hung up.
