Hype Watch Reports & Reviews (27)

I ordered a Hype watch for $6.97 from Tryable a couple months ago, which BTW is total junk. I wasn't told it was a subscription watch plan. I got 2 charges on my debit card for $112 as "Wellnessonline PR, CA" The first time my fraud department called I literally thought it may have been vitamins or wellness supplies I ordered because I was half asleep when they called. I got the second call yesterday and promptly called the company. It was a Sunday so I just listened to music play for almost an hour with no company name then left a callback number. This morning, since I didn't receive a call back, I called them again. They answered with "Customer service department" but no company name. Took almost pulling teeth to get an answer from them as to who they were and what the charge was for. I was told the amount would be reversed after I told her I was reporting it to my bank as fraud. I called my bank and they said if it isn't off in 3 days to go to my local branch and file fraud paperwork on them. Nowhere in the add did it say it was a subscription service for a watch. She even tried to send me something next month! I told her I never wanted anything from them and they better not try to charge it!

So I went to their site and emailed them from their provided email address which apparently isn't a real email address

*I just reported them to the BBB. They have several complaints. They've added their website so I went to it and sent them an email. I pulled up their info to see what comes up when you see the watch information. It doesn't say anything about a trial period. However when you go to check out, they've now added a little check box with terms and conditions about there being a trial period then a $119 charge will be charged. Not sure why mine was $112. I'm thinking it's so they can say it wasn't them. Even a different phone number than the one provided by the bank

ONLINE THEY OFFER THE WATCH FOR $6.85 WITH NO EXPLANATION OF A SUBSCRIPTION THAT CAN'T BE CANCELLED AND THAT I NEED TO PAY $88.00 MONTHLY. I DON'T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT THEM AND THE WATCH CAN NOT BE RETURNED. THIS IS A SCAM. SOMEHOW THIS SUBSCRIPTION CAN BE CANCELLED. THAT'S NOT FAIR FOR POOR PEOPLE TO BE CATCH IN SOMETHING YOU CAN'T AFFORD. THE ADVERTISEMENT ONLY SHOWS THAT YOU GET THE WATCH FOR $6.85. THERE'S NO NUMBER TO CALL THEM OR EMAIL TO CONTACT THEM.

Same thing happened to me! $112 2x. At first I literally thought it was something I ordered since it showed as "wellness online company" on my debit card and I ordered some wellness products like vitamins and such. So when fraud department called I basically ignored it. Then the second time it happened this week I called the company. They answer their phone as "customer service department" without telling their company name. Had to pull teeth to get then to tell me what the charge was for. She said they would reverse the charges when I told her I was reported it as fraud. But I haven't received an email confirmation. My bank said if it didn't occur in 3 days to go to the bank and fill out fraud paperwork against them

3 months ago as soon as i checked out of sams club I was texted a survey with the sams club logo. I thought it was a survey from my purchase at sams club. I took the survey, questions were appropriate for my purchase. After i was offered merchendise for taking the survey. No mention of a subscription. I chose the hype watch & earbuds.
I was emailed a reciept with the purchas price of 6.97. Shipping showed 0.00.
Now 3 months later I get a phone call from an obnoxious woman speaking broken english, saying that i owed 119.00 for the earbuds. And that the 6.97 was shipping. And i had a subcription that i owed for. She would not cancle the subscription uless i paid what i owe. Luckily i had cancled my debt card not long after i did the survey because of fraud activity. Thinking back it was probably this scam. Anyway they said they would take 40% discount off what i owe making it 74.00. If i pay that they will cancle my subscription. I asked them to cancel my subscription and send me a bill. She said she could not cancle unless i paid wh as t i owe. I told her that was blackmail. Telling me that if i didn't give her money she would keep billing me each month for a subscription. So glad the debt card i used for this scam was cancled not long after the survey.

Mine was from "Tryable". I've known other people who have gotten things through them before so I didn't think it was a scam. Even though a little voice in my head questioned it. I just posted a full complaint on here. Mine also had the broken English. She was hard to understand and spoke very fast. I asked her for proof of them canceling and not charging my account and she rattled off a confirmation number which I had her repeat 2x. But I haven't received an email to confirm it yet and this was hours ago

I just got a survey from T-Mobile that said free apple smartwatch just pay shipping, then checkout shows "hype mobile" so that was one fishy point. Thanks for your scam warning because this is the exact same tactic. I will not follow through.

Calling it the Facebook user experience. Questions seem appropriate but something felt wrong so I looked into it before clicking to claim the prize and here I am. Man, these folks will stoop to anything. Use caution they are getting so good it's hard to tell it's not legit...guess they have discovered grammarly...

Same as all the above, at&t survey. Only I didnt order any watch. Harassing phone calls. Told rude foreign woman I wanted to speak to manager. She said she is highest and if I didn't pay for a watch I didn't receive or order that it was going to collections. I argued with her for 5 minutes, she finally gave me name of hype watch, that's how I found this sight. She kept saying I ordered it. I told her I did not order anything. I'm seriously pissed and am trying to find a way to make sure I don't get charged anymore

I am sick of these harassing phone calls. My call today was from 360-664-2977, Olympia WA. But I think its probably a spoof. Its always a woman with broken English and a bunch of people in the background talking. She is threating and rude. All from a text I received IMEDIATLY after paying my AT&T bill. This is THEIR breach and I feel betrayed by this company that I have used for 20 years.

Date: 6/08/2022
I got a text from who I believed to be At&t, after survey I paid the shipping fee for as advertised an IPhone watch which later became a Hype watch. At the time I figured it was a "free" watch so what if it isn't an IPhone watch. I later decided to do some digging and here I am. I haven't yet received my watch, but when or if it arrives I'll make sure to contact them asap if they do have any contact information included and be asking, declining, any offer within the 14 days. If they give me a hard time I'll just keep the watch as "evidence," since I only ever use a preloaded card for any online shopping, it'll only cost be a couple bucks to replace and I only ever keep no more then $10 on it at any time, only loading it with the right amount when I "Plan" on ordering anything. I've learned that it's a good practice to use a buffer card to avoid any surprise charges, potentially costing more, so if they do try the same scam as I've read so far, guess I got a cheap watch, lol. It's just annoying that they got my phone number though.

Last December, I took a survey purportedly through AT&T and at the end of the survey, it said I could choose a "free" gift for only the cost of shipping. I chose a smart watch. As part of the checkout process, there was what I consider to be a very misleading practice of opting me in to several other purchases I didn't want but by the time I realized it had happened it was not clear how to cancel. When the items arrived, they were extremely poor quality. A pair of earbuds worked only intermittently and the smart watch stopped working within a month. I sighed and kicked myself for having been so gullible, but figured I'd been tricked out of only $30 or so and it wasn't worth fighting about. There was no company information on a packing slip or anything so it didn't seem worth trying to track them down.

Four months later, I was shocked by a phone call from a very aggressive bill collector saying that I owe $179 more and I'm in a monthly subscription for this useless piece of garbage! This was the first notification whatsoever that there would be any further charges, despite the bill collector saying "Well, you should have read the terms and conditions". There was NO mention of any such thing in any terms and conditions I was shown or sent. Believe it or not, I actually DO click through on the T&S and I would not have agreed to any such nonsense. The two emails I received (order confirmation and shipping notification) included NO mention of any further payments owed and NO mention of a subscription. This seems like complete fraud to me--there can't be an overdue collection on a bill that was never sent! I have combed through my email and have not received any communication about such an amount owed.

They have called back at least half a dozen times since (perhaps more, but they don't leave a message if I don't pick up and the number is different every time). The tone is always threatening about how my credit rating will be trashed if I continue to be in arrears. I continue to reiterate that I never agreed to any such amount and I have never received such a bill in writing. I had my credit card reissued so they couldn't charge me any more.

Today I got a text from what I thought was AT&T (the logo looked perfect). It said all I had to do was take a survey and they were giving away free Apple watches. So I took the survey and Ike won the Apple Watch! I clicked on the link and it sent me to something called hype company. I was thinking to myself that AT&T wouldn’t do something like this. When I first looked up The company all I saw were good reviews. I dug a little deeper and typed in hype co scam. That’s when all these results popped up and everything made sense. DO NOT Click on a link from your phone company about winning a free Apple Watch. I hope these people get what they deserve!

Even I got scammed and they called me today from the number 6306514108 and threatened saying they will send it to collections.
It all began when i took a survey “saying” its from from T -mobile.

I don't recall the exact advertisement but I remember getting a notice on my phone from what purported to come from Verizon. In December of 2021, it offered a smartwatch for less than $7.00. No information was displayed on the page indicating that this was a monthly subscription, that the watch cost $119.00, that it was a trial, and that it had to be canceled within 15 days. I started getting calls saying my credit card declined the charges. It is now May of 2022. They keep calling, threatening me with reporting this to the credit reporting companies. When I ask for information they refuse. Will not provide a copy of the terms & conditions. When I ask for the website the lady refused to give it. On May 3rd they called. On May 4th someone called. I asked for the address and was given the following: 872 S. River Road, St. George, Utah 87311. Telephone No: 888.593.4481. When I called the number they would not give any information about the company. They are aggressive, very boisterous, and attempt to be threatening.

The Same SCAMMER Still Out There Phishing!
I received an email asking to fill out a kind of survey and I will receive one of the four products I choose, and I chose a smart watch pricing $6.99. Short time later I felt that I didn't need so I cancel my credit card payment, think they would do the same since the credit card info is critical to the order. And several months later I received a call stating I owned around some &160 for the watch I didn't even receive.
What a scam! I am now clear that they just set a beautiful trap (large price tag saying only $6 some dollars, hiding the other critical info) luring you to get in and ambush you after 30-day returning period you're never aware of.
All of us should stand firm against the online SCAMMER: Hype Smart Watch, located at 782 South River Road, Saint George, Utah 84790 (the online retailer's name and address are given by a lady with Indian accent over the phone. they don't have physical address and refuse to show me their license, not sure if they give the truth info), dig out the real info of the SCAMMER, and bring the scammer to justice!

I woke up to charges on my card for 24.99 and two for 6.97. I immediately called my bank to cancel my card. This hype company keeps calling telling me that my card is invalid, and I owe them 119.00 for a watch I didnt receive. Then they tell me in the next encounter that I'm under a monthly subscription and I need to pay my owed money in order to cancel. When I explain that I didn't order this, nor subscribe and that I've turned this into my bank. They hang up. They call several times a day and tell me they will keep charging me if I don't pay. I asked how? You have none of my banking information. They tell me they will continue to send me products. When I told them I'll return them to sender, the lady shrewdly informed me that there will not be a return address, so I will not be able to. They have become very threatening and rude. I've blocked numbers they call from and now they call from different numbers.

In December I got an email from Verizon stating I could get a smart watch just for shipping cost of $6.96. I ordered the watch and it was delivered in December. Now I am getting calls from someone stating I owe $119. I called the company on my Visa card and they said I did not cancel the watch within 14 days so they sent the bill to collection.
The company would not give me their name and the so called collection company would also not give me their name. When I called the number on my phone, it was a non existing number. Very suspicion and I will be reporting this to AGs office.

I took the same survey that supposedly came from Verizon. When I saw that the "free" smartwatch required that I pay about 6.00 for shipping, and I looked at the watch, I started thinking that I found a watch like this in the bottom of a box of Cracker Jack. Then I found these reviews. Thank you! I reported this scam to Verizon.

I took a survey and it said I was eligible for a smartwatch (Hype watch) by only paying shipping. Well I filled out my information and went to check out and pushed checkout. Then I went to my bank account to find this scam charged me 24.99 plus 6.94 and 6.96 which is the only charge I was expecting. I'm in the process hunting these scammers down now.

Online survey
I just got a call from someone saying that I owed Hype Company $119 for a smart watch & accessories. They said it will be reported and affect my credit. Apparently a survey I took a few months ago for AT&T offering just to charge shipping for a smart watch & accessories has been trying to bill my credit card without my permission. I should have known the ad wasn't true. This is all a scam.

My dad did the survey thinking it was for AT&T a couple of months ago. My dad was just contacted by a man (wouldn't state who he was or company he was with) demanding payment for the $119 per item. My dad got a fraud alert from his credit card company when those charges hit and he had no idea what it was so he cancelled the card. Shame on that "company". I really hope the man who called takes my advice and goes to hell.

They advertise as if coming from AT&T, ask you to pay shipping, then after 14 days charge $119.98 per item. When I called, they said that was stated under the order submit button. When I called, they wanted to offer me %20 refund, then %40, then offered for me to keep the items for the $19.99 restock fee. Again, the we're advertised as only costing shipping after the survey and represented themselves as coming from AT&T. Shame on me for believing the deal, shame on them for misrepresenting themselves and the "deal". Don't make this mistake. The company and this deal is a scam.

Okay but did you get out of it somehow. Don't want to soend the money or the money on the renewed subscription

They contacted me through a text I thought was from AT&T, offering a discount on the watch if I took a survey. When I got to the end and said I wanted the watch they added on several other items and charged me for them without my permission. I also reported them to my bank but now I have to get a new debit card because of their scam.
