I was contacted through email by some one named “Sofia.” I was told to down load Microsoft word and add Zoë Fox supposedly the HR head. The interview was all done over messages I never spoke to a real person. After they selected me they asked for my email and sent me new hire paperwork (it looked very convincing.) They then sent me a check for $2,450 and asked me to deposit it. The check was for “software” and materials (phone, computer, printer, etc.) but you had to purchase it from a “vendor” they contracted. I deposited the check (like an [censored]) and the moment I did I felt something was off. I tried to go back to the original email from “Sophia” but the email was gone, I don’t remember deleting it so it must have been unsent. I unsent all my messages to “Zoë Fox” and blocked the contact. THIS IS A FAKE CHECK SCAM! After I told them it was deposited they kept hassling me about when the funds could be used. Luckily my bank called me the very next day and I explained what happened. They said the check was fraudulent and luckily I never sent them my information or sent them any money and they could cancel the pending deposit. I’m just happy I came to my senses before they requested money back or tried to get me to buy something. If this email, business, or person tries to contact you run away and report it. This is 100% a scam. I can’t believe I fell for it…I could’ve lost everything.
