Type of a scam Employment
I thought I did thorough enough research looking into the company and checking the email addresses but I was wrong. The link went to a seemingly professional page that asked very specific questions regarding virtual assistant experience and duties. After I filled out and sent the form I received the 3rd email.
I then received the 4th email with an offer letter and background form to fill out. After filling out and sending the documents I received the 5th email stating “ …The top Executive manager who will be your supervisor will be taking over from me today through the zoom chat app and will have you briefed on the next steps to take, and also how to go about the funds for the purchase of the mini home office setup.
You’ll be working with Mr Max Goldenberg our senior executive member here at Threadstone Capital. directly on zoom chat, and I will have you connected to the manager ASAP”
I then began a conversation with “Max” and after a few messages I was informed that instead of the company sending me equipment for the job they would be “sending me a check to mobile deposit” into my bank. I stopped communication then did more research and found out the actual Threadstone Capital’s LinkedIn account was hacked.
