I received a text asking if I was interested in advertising for a company's logo on my car. It said it paid $550/wkly. I signup for it then I received a text message from someone named Lesley Jordan saying they were the assigned coordinator. They were suppose to be advertising for HUB-LOT Watches. They told me in a text I would receive a check in the mail in the amount of $3850. Out of the $3850 I'm suppose to take $550 out for my first week payment. The remaining funds is to be paid to the installers. The installment is suppose to take place at my address. Then sent me a text the next day letting me know they were sending out the check with the tracking number. A couple of days later I received the check from UPS. I look at the check and something did not seem right. So I decided I was not going to cash it because I did not trust this was legit. The day I got the check they text me giving instructions to cash the check at my bank and once the check was cleared they wanted me to let them know so they could give me the next steps. I did not respond to them. They text me the next day "why the silence???? you have the check with you and no more responds.... please kindly get back to me before i go ahead with my decision." I still did not respond. They text me again the next day after that and said, "This now seems to me that you want to run away with our money.. We will have to involve the FBI and the local CIA on this cos it seems you want to screw us, the money we sent to you regarding your first assignment..All our conversation chain is been watched by the federal bureau, and besides, we have an agent thats works as a fraud investigator for FBI, we will be giving you 24hrs to get back to us with the money transfer details and the report or else... This is his contact office address in case you want to verify...ANTI-TERRORIST AND MONETARY CRIMES DIVISION FBI HEADQUARTER IN WASHINGTON, D.C. Federal Bureau of Investigation. FBI-Washington Field Office 601 4th Street, NW Washington, DC 20535." I responded and said, "Ok that's fine contact who you need to. I have not cashed the check so you can void it. Please stop contacting me." They responded, " Okay fine. We shall see on Monday because why do you enroll when you are not interested?" I responded, "Again please stop contacting me." Then they said, " You're getting arrested for this, can you mail back the check?" I responded, "Do what you have to do stop contacting me and I am going to report you for fraud and trying to scam me."
