I sent an email a few weeks after applying for a position on Indeed with this company. A "recruiter" reached out via text to inquire if I could do a pre-interview screening via Session. I did the pre-screen which was a STAR interview with one named "Diana". The following day, I received an offer letter and a W2 form, Educational Background check form and offer letter. They requested that I submit it signed. Sadly, I submitted it as I am in dire need of a job and I matched the contact names on Linkedin. Thereafter, I received an email. Right after the email was sent to me, I received a message on Session. All hell broke loose after the "Talent Acquisition Manager" advised me that all equipment (MacBook, and software) would be paid for by the company. Then they advised me that they would send me an email copy of a check that I should deposit via mobile deposit and they inquired which Bank I use. This is when my heart dropped realizing that they have my SSN and my Signature from the offer letter. I don't know what to do at this point. I will need to close my checking account and figure out what to do as my SSN and signature have been provided to someone other than the company that I applied to.
