When looking up the address of Healthcareoftoday inc it is 2219 W Olive Ave, Burbank, CA 91506, which is a mailbox store, so they are impersonating a business as a mailbox.
I got emails from Jessica Glenn, [email protected] and from Jospeh henderson, [email protected]. I talked to Jessica Glenn during this time. She had Joseph send me the check that I had to print out, assemble, and mobile deposit. I used cashapp to turn the $1835 into crytocurrency BTC to trade for the "software" and later in the day I had a hold on my bank account.

After filling it out they messaged me "I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to inform you that a decision regarding your employment has been made sooner than expected. Due to the urgent need to fill the position promptly, we had to expedite the process. I have attached the terms and conditions of your employment for your review. If you decide to accept this offer, please sign the document and send back the signed copy to me via email." The job letter and offer also stated "Before you can commence your training, you will need to obtain a personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws. Therefore, the company will issue an expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check only for the purpose of acquiring the license." - Signed by Marshall Craig. Along with the offer they requested a full name, gender, current home address, cell phone, and preferred email address to send the work equipment,
After sending the required information, they informed me my information was updated in the employee portal with the login information. In addition, they said "I'll also need you to setup a Telegram account (if you do not have one already) as we are going to be communicating through Telegram until your home office is completely setup, then we can effectively communicate via the company email. Thank you for your understanding." After confirming you have a Telegram account, they said "Great! Please click on this link t.me/jessica80528 This link will redirect you to the Telegram messenger, where we can seamlessly continue with the onboarding process."
Via Telegram, they'll inform you that the payment frequency for the job will be weekly. Aked if it was okay to send payments via electronic cheque as they have had multiple complains of cheques not being delivered via USPS. Two days letter, I got an email from Joseph Henderson with the electronic cheque "Please find attached check in PDF format, specially made for Mobile deposit. You are to print out both front and back copies, preferably printed in color, cut out the front copy to the size of a check and have it deposited through your mobile banking app. The purpose of this check is to pay for the software subscription, as stated on the offer letter. In order to smoothly complete this process, please work closely with the HR Assistant. NOTE: You are to endorse the back copy of the check before depositing it into your account and you should cut the check out of paper, close to its borders before depositing into your account." The went through the stated procedure and was able to deposit the cheque into my account.
After confirming the cheque was deposited, I was asked to access the a blockchain website "That’s the website to get started with the software. You’ll be asked for an OTP to access the website; this is the OTP - 081392. After sending them a capture that they require a cashapp payment they proceeded to say, "You’ll need to complete the payment with bitcoin via cashapp. Because as a blockchain company, they only accept decentralized payment"
After they said that, I did not proceed on or make any payment. It is entirely way too sketchy and there are many too many similar stories online regarding this.
