I was talking to a recruiter on LinkedIn.com for a remote job at the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission. I was sent a message with the provided email to talk with HR about an interview. I started a conversation with a "hiring manager" and was given information about the position and what my duties, etc would be. The red flag was that they would send me a check to purchase software and a macbook pro to do my work on. I did not give any personal information, and no address for them to send me a check. The next morning, my wife showed me the actual website for the cherokee nation gaming commission and it has a big notice warning not to fall for scams, they do not hire on indeed, linkedin, etc.
