This scammer sent me an email in response to a job I applied to ok LinkedIn. She said her name was Heather Jones. Basically, she said based off my resume I was a great fit for the job. I was given a form to fill out and a assessment to complete. I completed both and was told that I got the job based off my assessment. They sent me an offer letter stating that they are a small company who will send me the funds to purchase the laptop that I needed. After reading the offer letter I became very alarmed. I asked if there was going to be an interview and I never heard anything back.

After applying to a Data Entry job posting on LinkedIn I received a text message from “Heather” about my application. Heather then sent me multiple emails and offered the position without any other communication. Heather asked that I download the Telegram app for communication and sent a “welcome video” which was very odd and seemed as though she was poorly reading from notes. She stated that I would need to purchase equipment from a third party vendor and that a check would be sent to me to cover these expenses. Within hours that was changed from the check being sent to an amount would be deposited in to my bank account using a secure link. Heather asked if I used mobile banking as this would help the transfer of funds process. Additionally, when asked to download the telegram app I was told that is the communication that would be used until I received the office equipment and laptop - Heather stated that the laptop would have communication apps preinstalled on it. This does not line up - how would they preinstall the required apps if I am purchasing equipment from a trusted third party vendor?
