Last Sunday my wife attemped to contact the front desk at the Residence Inn in Southington, CT to book a few nights for our Anniversary. The gentleman identified himself as Marriott Bonvoy Reservations. My wife begin to book a room. He stated there was no military rate and that there are no ling sized bed which made my wife suspicious but thought he may just be new at the job. He ended up giving us a quote of 1410.12 which was astronomically higher than previous stays. When I received the email invoice i then realized we got scammed. What is scarier is how did they hack the phone number to the Residence inn front desk? The invoice stated prepaid (which marriot wouldn't do) ), a cancelation fee of 19.5 percent of total room cost (which Marriott would never do). My wife found out that we were somehow transfered to room77.com unbeknownst to us. I found a phone number for them and called to complain and request a full refund. Still no refund. I also contacted Navy Federal credit Union to report the fraud and illegal transaction. Still pending resolution
