Received a phone call from this number pretending to be HP Technical Support. They provided an erroneous serial number and model number for my HP product, and hung up on me when I suggested that this was a scam. Contacted HP customer service who confirmed that this is indeed a scam.

The person on the phone first started by calling me and telling me that there is a problem with my IP address. He has called me multiple times, he has my name and home phone number. The last time he called he said he was with HP in Canada and there is a problem with my computer. He has an accent like he is from India, and of course says his name is Rick Williams. There is an incredible amount of background noise like a hundred people all talking on phones. In the past I have called back the number showing on caller ID, and got a very nice lady who informed me that their business number is what is showing up on ID from these scammers. She was very nice, and that seemed very legit. I informed 'Rick' that I was forwarding all of his information to BBB and asked for his direct phone number. That was when he gave me the 8882456440 number. As I am sure he will call me again, I will continue to try and get more info as to who these people are.
