I was contacted by an individual named Iliana Ilieva. I be assumed she got my information from Indeed but I can't be sure. She requested an interview via Skype; however, this interview was non-verbal. She than said "Congratulations you got the job. Please get on Skype by 8 a.m. sharp tomorrow". I got on Skype the next morning and she sent me a .pdf check for $1,380.10 via email. I was told to take a snap shot and do a quick deposit to my bank (Chase). I immediately started to suspect scam once I saw the check. The font was very generic and too similar. The bank name Commerce was not the Commerce Bank logo on the check. There was a line outlining thine check. After completing the deposit she said "Congratulations you have completed your first accounting task. We will talk again tomorrow at 8 a.m.". Then I received a fake offer letter from a company called GSI and an employment document to verify my identity and citizenship. Chase put the check on hold. This woman then asked me to go purchase a gift card out of my own money to purchase supplies for the company since the check was on hold. I called Chase and they informed me that they flagged it as fraudulent.
