We contacted House of Bernedoodles via email on 1/28/19 about purchasing a puppy named Ozzz. They immediately responded via email and text. There was information exchange describing the puppy, shipping and costs. It was agreed that the advertised price of $1900.00 would be sent to them via Zelle which was completed on 1/30/19. Upon confirmation of receipt of funds, shipping arrangements were to be made by the seller and the puppy shipped within 24 - 48 hours. We attempted contact and they stated that they were working on the shipping arrangements. The last contact was on 2/1/19 in which it was stated the the puppy would arrive on 2/2/19. There has been no further communication andwe have not received the puppy as agreed.

After selecting a Bernedoodle puppy online I submitted a contact request (there were NO phone numbers to call and NO physical address). They asked which puppy I was interested in via the online contact request. I was sent an email immediately and I asked for them to call me. The number (432) 219-5747 Carter called me. He spoke very poor English (possibly Nigerian) and sort of mumbled answers. RED FLAGS!!! I asked for a video of the puppies and he said he didn't have one and would get it for me tomorrow. Gut instinct said stay away. Now I see others who actually lost real money and were totally scammed. Website is still up and the SAME dogs are listed for sale and that was 3 months ago. His email is [email protected]. They also use HouseofMaltese.com or HomeofMaltese.com. They use the name Pruitt and Hilton etc.on their website. Location is listed as Midland Texas.

House of Bernedoodles (www.houseofbernedoodles.com) supposedly based in Midland, Texas, claims to be a family-oriented breeder of Bernedoodles, a popular and fairly new cross breed of Bernese Mountain Dogs and Standard Poodles. The website appears legitimate and fairly thorough. The site features photos of puppies available for $1900 including airline shipping and all necessary paperwork. The "breeders" are reluctant to speak over the phone, preferring to converse via email and text message. I received emails from "Cailah Pruitt" (email address: [email protected]) and text messages from "Pruitt" (phone: 432/219-5747). I became suspicious when Cailah neglected to respond to my specific questions regarding puppy food. My dearest friend, who had already sent the $1900, had conversed via email with "Ashley Roberts" (email address: [email protected]) and text messages from the same phone number (432/219-5747). I finally got "Cailah" to phone me when I indicated I wanted to speak via phone on my way to the bank to transfer funds. "Cailah" turned out to be a man who identified himself as "Pruitt." When I inquired as to why my friend had not received airline information about the puppy she had paid for, he abruptly hung up and then blocked my phone number. Sadly, my friend had paid via Zelle (their preferred method of payment). Her bank informed her that if the scammers close the account, she will not be refunded. Please do not send money without being absolutely certain that puppies exist. My friend is out $1900...and worse, the disappointment of a grandchild expecting her first puppy. A subsequent search on Facebook revealed posts on January 16 & 17 that indicate the site is a scam.

Purchased puppy from breeder for $1,900 on 1/14/19 after communication via email and text. Was instructed to Zelle funds. Puppy never shipped, fake flights given and request for an additional $1,000 was made to "release" the dog in airport security. Later determined testimonials were real names, not the real people. Website a scam. Out $1900. No puppy.
