Went to https://houseappraisals.net/ because it suggested it could give estimate of house value. Several other websites offer the same service. This site said it must charge a $1 fee to cover the cost of having more "up to date" information. I entered my credit card information and afterward was told to "register" to recieve the information by mail, this involved giving email address. Afterward I was directed toward a page that had multiple "reports" with my address being one of them and the information was no more up to date than other sites that offered the same information for free.

I immediately received a call from my credit card fraud department stating that a transaction for $29.95 had just posted in Florida. I live in Georgia. The CS rep stated that 3 charges went through: 1) $1, 2) a temporary hold for $0, and 3) a charge for $29.95. All three transactions posted at the exact same time.

They have cancelled the card and will be sendin ga new one and will refund the scam transaction.
