Hotels.com Spoof Reports & Reviews (1)

I googled hotels.com customer support phone number, and I believe I clicked an ad or a fake website to get the phone number. I had a booking for a hotel room that was a no cancelation room. I was going to see a show that was canceled due to covid. They answered the phone as hotels.com and I gave them my confirmation number. They then told me that they could not cancel the room, but if I was to purchase the same amount on a gift card, they could remake the reservation and then cancel it that way. Once I did this, they put me through to a "manager" who told me it had to buy more gift cards in order for her to be able to take the original booking off, and to do the same in order to give me a free booking on the rescheduled date for the show I was attending at a later date. Once I did this, she said all the money would be reimbursed to me. I was uncertain, but she was able to read me all my booking information and resend my confirmation email. It was not reimbursed, and once they asked for more gift cards, I knew it was fraud. When I called hotels.com, They didn't even care to hear my story.
