Someone named Dominique, who said she was calling from Honeywell, told me that Entergy is changing all residential meters & that she wanted to reschedule my appointment as they came out yesterday to do the job but could not as my meter was behind a locked gate. This raised a red flag as my electric meter is on the side of my house, quite visible, & there is no gate at all where it is located. I told her I would have to check with Entergy before rescheduling & she said fine & even gave me their number, 800-368-3749. I called the number & it is Entergy. The gentleman I spoke with told me Entergy is in the process of changing meters but the customer will get a notice 90 days before they come to your home & another notice within 2 weeks of their coming.I had not received either & was told by Entergy that my account was not scheduled at this time. I tried calling Dominique back at the number she called from but the phone does not even ring. If you have not received a written notice from Entergy that your meter is going to be changed, the person calling is a scammer.

These people said they were from Westinghouse/Honeywell manufacturing & they wanted to upgrade our alarm system keypad because it was an older system. They had our name & address & wanted us to verify it. Then they would set up an appointment to have a new keypad installed. We called our alarm company & they told us that this was a scam.

A young male came to my door stating he was a representative of Honeywell. He wanted information regarding my ADT alarm system and wanted to update various parts of this system, including a new alarm pad, sign in the front yard, and phone app for remote access. Also, wanted to install a camera.

A man knocked on my door about 5pm on 11/30/15 and said he works for Honeywell. He had a lanyard with Honeywell written on it with a I.D. attached to it with his picture. He saw my ADT sign out front so that is why he stopped because he wanted to know about my alarm system. He said Honeywell keypads are malfunctioning and need to be replaced and Honeywell is sending out people to do this for free. He wanted to hand me a paper but I did not want to unlock my door. I did not tell him about my alarm system, but told him he needed to talk to my husband. He wanted to come back and I said no just give me your number. He took off as fast as he could. I did report it to the sheriff department.

(BBB STAFF: Note that while the above report states Honewell was the service provider, please know that it is not confirmed that the actual Honeywell corporation was involved in this scam, scammers pose as different alarm providers to increase legitimacy)
