All BS I almost fell for. Same happened to me. Deposit down on puppy then he will be shipped to me then final $ when have the dog. Shipping company is bogus wanted $450 for a damn crate! It's disgusting and unbelievable!

- Erie, PA, USA

A friend and I are wanting to get a chihuahua puppy for his brother who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer so I joined a Facebook group named Free Adult Rescue Dogs for free and Puppies for Adoption approximatley a month ago. On Monday May 29, 2023 I sent a message via Facebook messenger stating I was interested in some puppies that were recently posted and asked where they were located and what their prices are. I recieved a response a few hours later stating they were in Arkansas and offer shipping and delivery services to other locations and then asked if I would picking up the puppy or prefer delivery arrangements. I stated that I would like to see if driving from Pa to Ar would be cheaper than shipping and why I wanted the puppy. They were ok with everything until I asked do I pay before to when I pick up. Then I got this whole spiel about the shipping company they use and basically its the only option I had. Fine whatever saves me a 14 hr drive. We continue to make arrangements and I'm already feeling sketchy. The person is being very evasive with certain questions. We finally agree on $300 for the puppy with me paying $150 deposit and then another $150 upon delivery of the puppy. I tell them I'll send the deposit on Friday, June 2, 2023. Fast forward to Friday. I have also noticed that seller is very pushy. I get in contact with seller as soon as I have my friend's half of the deposit. We agree to send money via Cash App but first I have to sign a change of ownership and I need to do it quick as she has to meet her son in the hospital. I give her my name, address, phone number and email address as she states she needs this info for the shipping. I ask if I have the option to pick which puppy I want. She sends me 3 sets of pics of 3 different dogs and gives me no time to look at them before asking which one I want. My friend and I agree on which one we want so I tell her. She then tells me to let her know when I'm ready for her Cash App info. So I tell her I'm ready and ask if she needs my info. I clarify the price of the puppy as $300 split into a deposit of $150 and then payment of $150 upon delivery of puppy. She agrees. I send my info. She sends me her Cash App name. $juiceymelon. Struck me as a little unprofessional but whatever. I send the money. She then says she's working of the ownership documentation. I look at what she emails me. Owner's name is listed as Jason Adams. Odd. Then she says I will also be sending the balance she needs to finish some bills at the vet. The $150 that's left is the balance? Yes. Which she then adds she will give me a new cash app to sent it to and to let her know when I'm ready. I'm ready. She then asks me to check my delivery info to verify its correct. I search for it. No results. She then sends me the tracking number and a link for Global Shipping Logistic Service. And tells me she has cash app ready if I'm ready to proceed with the balance. This is not sitting right with me so I ask pay the other half now? She says yes. So I pointed out that earlier she agreed to upon delivery. She acknowledges that yes she did but there's still some vet bills and she needs to get them settled before she gets back home. And she needs to drive back home and get to the hospital so please try to be fast. I tell her she should have mentioned any extra fees when I asked and that she will get the other $150 when the puppy is delivered. She claimed she didn't know the vet fees would be that much and the agency will contact me when they are about to leave and she needs the remaining $150 to settle the bills before going to meet her son in the hospital. I told her not going to happen. I am sticking to the original agreement. She doesn't fight me on it just states that its hard for me to understand what she's going through. I explained that I wasn't trying to be difficult and that I can relate as I lost my son 22 yrs ago. I printed signed and sent the change of ownership paper to her. A few hrs later I had to message her again as I was having a similar but far worse siutation with the transport agency, that will be a second report. She responded with her son will be in danger if he finds out anything bad about the puppy and then proceeds to send me pics a male lying in a hospital bed with an NG-tube in his nose. We discuss that situation and got absolutely nothing got resolved. She read my last message 2 hours and did not respond. All of this was done through text.
