Type of a scam Online Purchase
Homedecorez.com had the best price, 31 in stock, and free shipping
I went through the purchase for $639.20 steps and it only allowed me to buy through AfterPay which broke it down in to 4 equal payments of $159.80
I completed the purchase and made the first payment of $159.80
Homedecorez order number is 15876
Issue is Afterpay has paid the seller the total amount of the purchase and I am bound to pay them back
I noticed the payment went to Awareness Avenue order number 100492285003 not Homedecorez.com so I began to reach out to both Homedecrez.com and Awareness Avenue and have had zero response via email, the phone for Homedecorez.com is disconnected and they both have chat box using Facebook messenger which I received one reply 2 days after my purchase stating I would get email when shipped and they need 12-13 days to ship
Once it exceeds the date I attempted contact 5 times in messenger and email with no reply or answer
I spoke to Afterpay who only communicated via emails that they have created a dispute for me but soon enough they will want their money
I have sent notifications via email and messenger to cancel my order and refund the money with no reply
I even messaged and emailed the seller info as listed by Afterpay as Awareness Avenue with no reply
It appears this is a shell scam where the buyer is purchasing from what looks like a legitimate website who has a payment company handle repayment but payment is made by finance company to another company all together and order numbers are different and zero communication
I’ve blocked my credit card that Afterpay is drawing from and informed them I am not paying any more money and canceled the order but communication with Afterpay is all online and email no phones
I’m out the first payment but Afterpay will want the balance and I will never see communication from Homedecorez.com or Awareness Avenue to cancel order so both Afterpay and myself are on the hook
I do see that now 3 weeks later that Homedecorez is using a different company other than Afterpay to handle the purchase payment
Seems they are bouncing from one to another
I’m not sure what ScamPulse.com can do to help but I wanted to report this
