I received an offer from a LinkedIn contact to conduct purchases of gift cards as a mystery shopper. I received a check (Bank of America) by mail. I followed the instructions and deposited the check. A day later, I purchased the gift cards from 2 different retailers. I sent pictures of the cards as directed on the instructions. I later found out through my bank that the check would be returned and not deposited. The gift cards had already been registered so I could not gain access to these either.
