- Owensboro, KY, USA • May 07, 2025

Post card received in USPS. "Home Warranty Division," information implied that an existing home warranty was about to expire and provided a phone number to call, to prevent interrupted service. Designed to look like an official notification. Received 05/2025.

- Owensboro, KY, USA • Apr 26, 2025

Letter claiming that a home warranty acquired by the mortgage company was expiring immediately and needed to be renewed. There is no company name, company address, or website on the letter. Letter lists a customer id, expiration date, and the name of mortgage lender.

Letter states that this is their final attempt to contact and renew this warranty. This, however, is the first letter or communication that’s been received. In the text, the letter encourages homeowner to “Call immediately” and gives an expiration date within a few days of receipt to encourage quick action. Although the letter encourages renewal of a pre-existing warranty it states that no inspection is required but that, “final acceptance is subject to your ability to meet eligibility requirements.” Which of course opens the ability to collect sensitive data and money by the senders.

Received a postcard asking me to call so I don't have a lapse in warranty coverage. One side of the postcard has "County Deed Records" in bold. The other side has "Home Warranty Division" in bold. Since I don't have any such warranty, I knew it was a scam. I could see others falling for it.

Received a card in the mail in my husband's name saying home warranty was expiring. The mortgage is in my name only and we don't have a home warranty.

- Louisville, KY, USA • Sep 18, 2024

Repeated mail received by USPS, claiming that my home warranty is expiring and while also claiming “Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder.” They have my address and original financial institution that made the loan. This is a scam and is phishing for business and using fear to do so.
