In April on Home Town Takeover FB page I posted that "I loved Ben and Erin and wished they would renovate my house". Nora Williams, who said she was a staff member asked me if I seriously wanted Ben and Erin to renovate my house. I said "yes". She personal messaged me. Then we communicated via email. After 3 weeks of numerous emails, pictures, videos, etc., They sent me an application, which I filled out, and a contract which I signed. Then came a request for $22,000 to be sent to Capital One Bank in Green Bay, Wisc. and a routing number. No one had called me or come out to our house to measure anything or give us estimates of renovation costs. I was always suspicious but continued to be hopeful until this last email requesting money. I have ceased communicating with them. I didn't give them any information regarding my SSN, bank or credit card numbers. I would like for the Home Town Takeover people to know that someone is using their name to scam innocent followers and for the public to be aware this is happening. Thank you.

Same - I was just contacted by someone saying they are Nora Williams - and I was skeptical right away. She contacted me via Instagram- which was a little weird. I took pictures of the conversation. But HGTV should be made aware of this scam. If it were for my kids showing me that she is a scam - I’d probably send more than just videos.
