I was looking for a holiday gift for my niece that was sold out almost everywhere. But I was able to find it at www.homesweethomestore.com. Or so I thought. I checked out the website a bit, and it seemed legitimate. I read the "about us" page and the "shipping policy" page. The company also retargeted me through Facebook, so as I was scrolling my newsfeed, I saw ads for this "company." The product I bought was $82.85. I received a confirmation email right away. However, a week or two later I realized that I had never received a notification that my item had shipped. I sent an email to their customer service email, [email protected], and it came back as undeliverable from an autoreply service "namecheap.tech," which doesn't sound very promising. There is no other contact information on the site. I noticed that after I placed the order, I saw an immediate uptick in spam emails and text messages, so I believe that in addition to taking my money and not delivering a product, they also sold my information to other advertisers.
