I received a call on my cell phone and the person identified as a person from a credit counseling service, stated that she sees we have been interested in purchasing a new home or car - then said "can you hear me clearly?" I replied yes and realized that it was being recorded - she then asked if I wanted to be on a no call list - which triggered a memory of stories how people can steal your identity from such recordings. I immediately asked if she would erase the recording to which she hung up. This has just happened and I wanted to report it as soon as I could in case it is a scam.
