Home Owner's Association - Phishing Phone Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

I got a series of called from the above number and did not pick up the phone because I didn't recognize the number. After four rings it goes to my answering machine and they never left a message. But then, two minutes after one call, They called again and this time the phone kept ringing. the light on my answering machine was flashing rapidly, rather than slowly as it usually does when there is a message. I picked up the phone and a female voice said she was from "The Home Owners Association" and asked if I could hear her. I said "Yes". There was no response and after a couple a couple of minutes I hung up. I looked up the number on the internet and there was a previous report that the caller "claimed to be from the Social Security Administration". I also found that the question "Can you hear me" is designed to get me to say "Yes" so they could get a recording of my voice saying that. There seems to be some controversy over what they could with that. I was amazed they could manipulate my answering machine like that. I haven't lost money - yet!
