Oh man, that [censored]bag Matt Theriaque [censored]ed me out of $500+ dollars too! Gonna write a review on here soon and every other site that will let me.

The guy is a piece of [censored] and a master of gaslighting and lies... He never answers your calls. Says he's almost done and says will deliver on day X, but then is a no show, no call on that day... then has the nerve to turn it around and make me look like the bad guy.

I contacted Matt Theriaque after my husband found an ad from him in a Facebook group. We wanted wood counters and ultimately signed a contract with him. He asked for 50% up front, which we paid immediately. He came to our home and took measurements, we picked our wood and stain, and were told it would take 6-8 weeks for completion. I hadn’t heard anything by the tine the 8 week mark came up, so I reached out via Facebook Messenger. After a few days and no response, I sent an email. Finally he responded, saying he’d need until the end of the month, but promised they’d be done. I agreed, and when the end of the month approached, I asked for an update. No response. I emailed again. No response. Again, I tried to contact him, with no response. Then I checked out his reviews online. Turns out another woman had waited over 6 months for her counters and was now taking him to small claims court to get her money back. This combined with no response from him had me nervous, so I let him know I wanted a refund. That’s when he got angry. He sent me messages in all caps, yelling about how he was a one man show, how dare I ask when my counters (that I’d already paid 50% of) would be ready, it takes a lot of time to go to the lumber yard and stuff. I was cursed out, saying he shouldn’t have to kiss my [censored]. All because I’d asked for an update on my project. After he freaked out, I reminded him that I’d been asking for days, and based on other reviews I was nervous that he wouldn’t complete the project. He yelled some more, and said I’d agreed to no refunds, but that he’d refund me anyway. He said it would take 5-7 business days to show up in my account. On day 8, I asked for a receipt proving he’d refunded my money, because it never arrived. I got yelled and cursed at once again. Finally he told me to take it up with my bank to reverse the charge. He sent picture of piles of mismatched wood, claiming it was for my counters. He’d never even started. It’s been 88 days since I paid him, and now I’m having my bank reverse the charge since he won’t refund me. He blocked me on social media to prevent me leaving negative reviews, and deleted those I’d already left to prevent others from knowing he’s a scam.
