We found his ad on the Facebook market of concrete patio work, he had videos and images of his work with excellent reviews. So, I called him and took the quote. He then made his point that we are not like other companies, we will make sure you get a smooth concrete. We will come tomorrow and start the work. He came with another 3 guys and started the work. He ordered a truck of cement to pour into our backyard but when the truck left he realized that cement wasn't enough and he told us that I called the cement factory again but they are saying we cannot come now. we will come tomorrow. Our backyard was half filled with concrete and we were worried, we asked them if it will dry out then it will not get smooth. They said we will fix and smooth it, don't worry we know how to tackle it. We thought maybe they know, they are professionals. The next day they pour another half and did a little bit of work and without telling us they left. My husband called him where are you? They said we will come after a week and power wash it and smooth it. We said no!! You have to finish it within 2-3 days but they said no concrete will take time till we do anything else. We again thought maybe they are going to use a machine or something to smooth it. After a week, we called him back to know when he is going to come and fix it. He said oh I am in Montreal for another project, I will power wash it when I come back. We said it's not just a power wash, you have to take out the wooden frame, fix the sides, smooth out the surface, put the stairs back, and take the old slabs with you that is why you took the 50% advance from us. He replied oh you know that cement factory gave us [censored]ty and less material. So I said, I don't know this stuff, you are the contractor and I don't know what cement factory you are dealing with. It's your job please fix it don't shatter our dreams for the backyard. Ok, fine I'll send someone on Saturday. The next day, he blocked our phone number and Facebook profiles including the other 3 guys (Facebook profiles). They blocked us from everywhere. It's not only money that they took, it's emotional damage to me I just cannot back to my backyard. It's a mess and cannot fix it. Unless I spend thousands of dollars.
