First, you are approached on your doorstep by a young-ish man (maybe 30 years old), with a baby face and a very nice manner. He tells you he's just finished up a job nearby for one of your neighbours and he can offer you a discount that day since he's already there with his crew and his supplies. This was true, he did a job up the street. This "salesman" pointed out all the problems with my masonry and agreed to do everything I asked, promised me up and down that the job will be done that day and to my utmost satisfaction. He gets his crew to my property, they start demolishing and immediately, there's a problem and the job suddenly becomes more than double the original agreed upon price. Then, suddenly, he's demanding a 50% deposit, in cash. No other form of payment can be accepted. (I should have realised at this point that something wasn’t right). This was not stated up front and when I try to dispute this sudden new set of terms, he turns into an ogre using his size and aggressive manner to try to intimidate me. This is the cue for his posse to come hurrying over and start snarling at me, alone on my front lawn with nothing to protect me. (Again, I should have listened to the alarm bells going off in my head and just told them to leave the jobsite and not return). The next thing I know, I'm driving to my local bank branch because I'm afraid of being left with a giant hole in my front yard. From this point onward, he is nothing but nasty and aggressive. Those nice manners of his have completely disappeared. The crew he sends claim they can’t understand English and don't have their boss's phone number although they called him earlier in the day. The “bosses” drop by intermittently, mainly to demand the rest of the payment although the work isn’t nearly completed. I ask them to address some of the things that were missed and other problems with the crew’s work and I’m told I don’t know what I’m talking about and it looks “beautiful”. Beauty may be subjective but this was objectively terrible work. The crew was barely equipped with the tools and skills required to do the job and they skipped over steps, literally cementing over them. A neighbour around the corner came over to tell me her story which was nearly identical in all the essential parts. Then other neighbours approached us when they saw what was happening and shared what had happened to them or to other people in our area. These guys are clearly targeting seniors and lone women. They force cash payments and become belligerent when there are any complaints about their shoddy work. Their M.O. is to secure the cash, do a hasty, sloppy job, and be out of there and on to the next house before anyone has had time to warn the next victim. This is a neighbourhood with a lot of crumbling masonry and most people can afford to have some work done on their property so it’s very easy pickings for unscrupulous people like Granite Masonry and Powerwashing. According to various neighbours, these guys have been running this same scam under different names for at least two years in our neighbourhood and others nearby. People have just begun comparing notes but they are identifiable by their distinct accents and their vehicles (which have now been photographed by multiple people.) They thought they saw me photographing their licence plate (I was not but have done now after this encounter) and they followed me down the street with their SUV, hemmed me in and started shouting accusations at me. I was alone and I was afraid for my physical safety even though they were careful not to utter actual threats. I don’t think they have done anything that I can report to police but I do feel that others should be warned against them before they are tricked and bullied out of their money. I would like to request that you do not publish my postal code because it would be very easy for these people to identify me and my neighbours, especially with the details I have shared. I am already sleeping with one eye open because they were stalking me up and down the street whenever they saw me outside talking to anyone. They would actually roll up in their car beside me, roll down the window and ask me in a not very subtle manner if “there was a problem”. So please, please, do not publish my name or postal code. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you can do something to help other people out there. I know I didn’t do my due diligence but at the time, I didn’t find anything online about them (in my admittedly rushed Google search) so maybe a warning on ScamPulse.com might save someone the same fate.

I suspect this is not a legitimate company. The perpetrators have either set up a shell website and marketing materials OR are borrowing the identity of the company on the website and mocking up fake marketing materials and contracts. * ******* **** *** *** ****** **** ***** **** * ******** ** *** *** ******** ******* ******* ******* They are definitely ripping clients off by disappearing before completing jobs and are definitely misrepresenting the skills, tools and materials they have to do what they advertise on the website.

Here is their modus operendi. Five or six British guys (they have accents from Northern England) descend on a neighbourhood in a black truck and/or minivan and roam door to door, pressuring folks into small masonry jobs as per the flyer I have. They are stingy with their flyers and often ask for them back. They throw out random numbers for quotes and then rapidly drop the quote to 20-25% of their original number leveraging high-pressure urgency tactics (can only honour that price today, only if you commit now, only if we can start the work right now). They also state that no deposit is required and that you can pay in full after the job ( a promise/tactic they do not honour).

They land one small job in a neighbourhood as a wedge and then prey on vulnerable adjacent people, doing just enough mediocre work to appear legit and to inspire neighbours to follow suit. They'll juggle about 5-10 small repair jobs in close proximity doing a mediocre to awful job on all of them.

*** ******* ***** loaf around, jumping in with pressure tactics as needed while they tag in Spanish-speaking workers who are not skilled in any of the trades advertised. The workers are nice enough and hardworking but are clearly instructed to do the BARE minimum. They are NOT skilled in the trades advertised on the flyer. Possibly they can handle some basic parging.

Furthermore, the goon overlords leverage high-pressure tactics for payment, citing ridiculous reasons for needing payment RIGHT NOW. "I have twelve minutes to get to the bank. Pay in full now. We need to settle up for the week." Or this gem, "Why don't you uber to the bank right now to get the cash?" They are big guys and will crowd you in your doorway insisting on payment. In one case they asked for $1000 more than originally quoted to an 86-yr-old neighbour. ***** ******** **** ******* ********intimidating, humourless bullies trained in manipulation.

Tim and his underlings syphon as much cash as they can from the 'hood as possible then disappear, often not completing the work.

For my part I paid $3,250 in cash, was bullied by a huge guy to pay up and the crew has now ghosted me (having only done half the job). Yes, my bad for paying up but I was intimidated by a really big guy harassing me. Two other neighbours were similarly pressured and also have incomplete jobs.

So, the

bottom line: fake company, intimidating, dishonest tactics, misrepresentation of the skillsets, terrible and incomplete work and preying on vulnerable populations (single women and elderly women). They quoted $3600 to my 86-year-old neighbour and then bullied her to pay $4500.

Our neighbourhood group has a pic of the truck but I don't think the licence plate is identifiable. Also, Tim did give me his cell number. ***** ** ********** ** *** ***** ** **** ** *** **** ******** *********** *** *** * *** *** **** *** ***** **** *** **** ** ****** ** ** * ********* *******  778-917-9352
