Had contacted him through my previous supervisor. Needed railing replaced on my front porch after a tree branch fell on it. He stated he would replace for $300.00 but needed half up front. Stated he would search for the railing online, let me know so I could pay and he would install. After a couple of days of waiting I started searching and sent to him. He was not helpful and I reiterated that he was supposed to be looking for the railings. Days went by and I finally texted him and told him I found a contractor that would get the railing and install and I wanted my money back. He has not responded. I called the police to get a report but was told it was a civil matter.

I hired a contractor who presented himself as licensed to perform work in my home. He collected a deposit and then repeatedly extorted me for more money throughout the job, refusing to continue working unless I paid him additional funds each time. He punched holes in my walls, performed improper electrical work, and deliberately damaged other areas of my home so he could charge me to fix them. When I requested proof of his license after he damaged my property, he refused to provide it. He sent multiple invoices totaling thousands of dollars for work that was never completed correctly. He threatened me over the phone when I questioned him. Every time he came back to fix something, he made it worse. He has refused to return any money or make anything right. I am out of thousands of dollars and my home is destroyed. This contractor is unlicensed, dishonest, and predatory. I want other consumers protected from this individual.

Gregory Kreiler quoted $16,000 labor expenses for my renovation project. I sent him $8,000 as a 50% up front payment and the other 50% was due at the end of the project. I paid for materials as well ($5,800). After initiating the project, Greg sent an email saying he wants another $2,000 in labor up front. When I said no becuase not even half of the work had been done, he sent another email terminating the agreement due to "communication difficulties". He had not completed even 1/4 of the work to be done. He then avoided all phone call and emails, never responding again. This contractor is unprofessional and a scammer. Avoid.

Devin said the work would be completed within a week and a half by July 5th. July 14th they still had not started and asked for a refund, they said they would mail it on July 15th, then it changed to a refund was needed from a stone delivery which never happened before they could refund me. Then they agreed to do the work, came for 2 days a week for 2 weeks, dug a horrible hole not to the depth stated in the contract and it was out of square by 4 feet. Then they left and never came back. I had to contact a lawyer in September 2025 and have been going through the legal civil process and the company does not have a legitimate address and all the court notices are being returned.

Company only accepted small checks (9K or less) for the total amount. Began work and left me no choice but to continue it with all the siding ripped off my house. Company refused to provide me with a receipt or even bill of materials used. They never returned as promise to fix issues with their installation. They destroyed landscaping and walkways and entered my property and removed items without permission weeks after the job was complete. Their email and websites are 'invalid' now. No way to contact them. While they did some 'work', it's clear that any warranty is not going to be honored. Their insistence on cash/checks not made out to the company and under SAR limits is suspicious.

They were hired to remove glue residue of a newly installed floor. They came under the influence with no identification or branding on the truck or on themselves. In addition, they brought one tool the size of a toilet brush with identified product and no idea what they were there to do.

- Dumfries, VA, USA • Sep 07, 2025

Contractor Christopher Delmaro, operating as Metro Roofing and Contracting, was hired to perform renovation work at 3205 D Street SE, Washington, DC 20019. A $60,000 down payment was paid to Mr. Delmaro in good faith in three installments at the start of the contract.

After receiving the third payment of $36,000, Mr. Delmaro failed to return to the property or perform any of the agreed-upon work. Numerous attempts to contact him were unsuccessful. No refund was provided.

This appears to be a deliberate scheme to accept large advance payments without providing services. His actions have caused significant financial harm and delay. I request that your office investigate Mr. Delmaro and his company for contractor fraud and unfair trade practices and take appropriate enforcement action, including restitution.

A person in a vehicle with sprayer equipment approached me while I was doing landscaping on my property. Gave me a card saying they do driveway repair and sealing with a warranty, and offered me a deal to have it done that same day. I accepted since my driveway needs the work. They sprayed and promised to come back to do the repair work and reseal. They have never come back to date. I have talked to the owner several times and was told he would show up soon. As of today, 08/16/2025, when I called his number again, there is no service!

Felix Garcia, aka Robert Rivas, Eddie, Anthony is the many names of this dirty contractor. Using the Nextdoor App, I was looking for a contractor to do work on my house. Felix Garcia recommended “ Anthony “ for the job, when in fact, it was himself. We hired him to res and pavers and he collected the $$, did part of the work, and at that point I discovered from other victims he was a scammer. His worker did damage to my property causing me to pay someone else to fix it.

- Reading, PA, USA

I had a contractor come to my home to remodel my bathroom. He received two cashier checks which totaled around $4300. He received $2300 for materials to start the project. He was almost finished and needed some more but I did not have it, only the rest of the money to finish the project with the other cashier's check. He came up with death in the family and din't come for a week, then broke up with girlfriend and suppose to got put out his place. Now it is partner who had a fall with each other and kepted his car keys so more time has passed by. He said, he needed a few days because the guy had my mirror, and I told him there is other things to finish besides a mirror. I gave him a few days and called his cell phone and he changed his number. I inboxed him on a app called "Nextdoor" which is where we communicated at first and he never responded, then inboxed him on Facebook and no response again.

We needed our Luxury Vinyl floor repaired and got the company from the Next Door app. An employee Named Davis came out to our home and reviewed our needs and subsequently sent us an estimate of $2,100 with a requirement of a 50% deposit. We sent the deposit via Zelle on 2-13-25 and they scheduled a time to come an do the repairs. They had to cancel the repairs on two subsequent days and finally we sent them a cancellation request and requested our deposit back. We were promised on several occasions that the deposit was being mailed back to us but it still has not been received. I even have a picture of the check. They initially sent it to the wrong address and was told that they corrected the address and sent it to us. We have reported this additionally to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Attorney General for Consumer Affairs and also contacted Channel 6 Call for Action. We also received an email telling us that the company is being sued for this scam by other individuals.

A man posing as a contractor approached my elderly father, almost 88 years old, and said that he could replace a couple slabs in the driveway that were cracked. My father witnessed the work and he said that the workers broke up the old driveway and poured concrete over the broken pieces, no reinforced steel was involved. I was out of town when this work was completed. My father told the man that I was the one handling his finances and would handle payment. A man called me and said his name is David Jones, when asked, he said his company name was EGY Construction, that company doesn’t exist. After further research, the name associated with the phone number, 484-472-2849, is Keithon J Green. I asked the man if he was licensed, insured, and bonded, he said that he was. However, after speaking to him on the phone, I texted asking for his business license. He has yet to text me with a reply. I have been receiving phone calls, which I’ve since blocked. I received a phone call yesterday, from someone saying he was the uncle of the man who did the concrete work and I immediately said I was busy and hung up. He called several more times before I blocked his number, 484-338-6407. I have not paid them, because they have yet to prove that they are licensed to do construction in Fairfax County. I’ve notified Fairfax County police and spoke to a detective, but his hands are tied since a crime has to be proven. I would appreciate any guidance concerning this matter. Please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you.

Paving Scam - Paving crew in brand new vehicles using name United Road Construction. Tag on vehicles is URC USDOT 2611562. These people are very deceptive and will say they are a road crew complete with red lights and yellow safety vests. They say that they can't work that day and have extra or leftover asphalt and will offer you a deal. Except it is not a deal. It starts small, then the price goes up. The work is terrible quality but they are counting on you not to know its bad. They are in a big hurry to take your money and leave.
