Type of a scam Home Improvement
I purchased the extended, 5 year warranty.
I got two phone calls on different days. Messages were left, they were persistent.
The message said they were Home Depot and Home Service.
They were calling from the warranty center and wanted to test my water.
When I asked them why, she said just to be sure that I didn't have hard water where it could alter the longevity of the life of the washer machine.
She said a technician would come and take 2 cups of water from my sink and run an 8 test series.
At the end, the technician would then give me a $30 Home Depot gift card.
It was 7:45 PM.
She insisted someone could be at my house by 8PM.
I had her explain the need for testing and the exact tests again.
That took a bit of time. She continued to insist on someone being at my home by 8:30PM.
I told her that was too late.
We scheduled an appointment for the next day, at noon.
I knew something didn't sound right.
I called my local Home Depot, (where I purchased my washer from).
I asked them if they knew of the program.
They spoke with the warranty dept, and they nothing of this program.
