I checked into the Hollywood inn suites hotel 11/20/2023 and requested a four night stay. During check in I was asked to pay $85 a night and to allow them to use a credit card for the room deposit in the amount of $150. I asked the clerk if the deposit was refunded after check out and he replied “yes”. However the rooms were advertised as (Nonsmoking Rooms) and on my first night my room was filled with secondhand smoke from neighboring rooms. The following morning 11/21/2023 around 8, I explained to the clerk that I was unable to continue with the stay due to health reasons and was issued some sort of I.O.U printed receipt with a handwritten note stating that “Maria approves a refund of $283.05 which was only the room fee and did not include my initial deposit. A few hours later I received an email saying that my bank was declining the refund. I immediately contacted my bank and they asked for the documents from the checkout and refunded the account with no problem. Later that evening the hotel takes the money out of my account yet again. I have contacted them and have not heard back. I found there behavior quite suspicious and began checking reviews on google and countless other victims have had the same scam happen to them. I really hope this company is stopped immediately. And that justice is served.
