I applied for a remote Executive Assistant Position through LinkedIn. I received an e-mail from an HR Specialist stating I had been selected for an interview that would be conducted through Teams. This was a text only "interview" with what seemed like very legitimate questions. I was then asked the next day, what my start date would be be if I was offered the position. I was then informed, again via Teams that I would receive a phone call from a Coaching Program Specialist. The call was never received and when I reported that back to the hiring manager, Jeannette Thornton. I soon received an email offering me the position. The following day, I was told to reach out to a Max Roth who was my team lead in which I did. I was informed of some pre-training tasks that would need to be completed the next day. I was then given a very detailed list of equipment and the cost of each item, some of the items have nothing to do with what is listed in the job description. I was then informed that a check in the amount of $15,810.89 would be sent to me to cover the work materials order for their authorized vendor, shipment fee, and a signing bonus (of which was never mentioned anywhere). When I inquired as to why the funds would be sent to me as opposed to them paying the vendor themselves I never received a response back.
