I had an account on Roomster.com with my ad looking to rent. I was contacted by one Hilary Lee who offered a $650 a month roommate situation. She said she owned the apt after her father died and mother moved out. She gave me details about the apt, rent, all about who she is, where she worked and her position at the company, and asked about me.

I told her my lease was up the next week and I could lose my job without a place to stay,so could I come see the place first I asked, she then told me she was out of town, and couldn't let me see the place til the Memorial Day weekend and that if I didn't send the $50 room securing fee, she couldn't guarantee the place would still be available. I again emphasized my need to hurry. So I agreed and she told me to send her the $50 as an Amazon E-gift card and when she acknowledges that she has it, she'd send me the receipt for the $50 and a lease agreement.

I sent her the money, it took a day for her to receive. I called Amazon, they said she should've gotten it, so they resent it and I got a message not from Hilary but an automated message from Amazon saying the e-gift card was received. I never heard from her again, except on Roomster I got the exact same message from her the next week.
