They spoke to me and I felt really pressured as they were at my door, to pay $25 to each teenager to contribute to their education funds that they talked about.
On the Nextdoor App, everyone keeps telling me this was a scam and this is how the neighborhood got profiled a few a years ago.
What was suspicious was that the kids kept asking me what our plans were later today, and what our plans were tomorrow, and then asked what our dogs names were - basically seeming like they were prying to see if we would be home.
I don’t mind if I was scammed out of $50, but I am now worried that this is part of a bigger scam. So I wanted to report this.
I feel very stupid now that I gave my information (now they have my full address and my name). I’m just worried this is part of a bigger issue.
