HiCounselor reached out to me via LinkedIn and told me about a program that could help me land a job. I enrolled with them in May of 2022 and my understanding was that If I'm unable to get a job within the year, I have no obligations as long as I participate. It's been about 13 months and I haven't landed a job. I've been following their advice and have been extremely communicative.
I just received an email from them congratulating me on my new job offer, which I haven't received. It also stated that I have uploaded an offer letter, which I haven't received. It's also linking me to apply for a loan and letting me know that payments are starting soon.
I'm really disappointed that I fell for this scam. Mainly because I'm really in search of a job, and just realized that these folks prey on this particular vulnerability. I've looked through Google and Reddit/Quora and other folks have experienced the same. Please help.
I've attached the agreement I signed, along with the email I received from them, that shows their predatory actions.
