Helping hands is a different website than helping hands act for using that as deception. They’re not actually trying to help anything. They’re just collecting your information and probably selling it would be my guess.

This scam act as if they would assist with HARDSHIP. They had me fill out an application, Attach a copy of my BGE bill. Then contacted me via text to say that I was eligible. After reaching out and speaking with a operator something just didn’t seem right. I then decided to look up this company to see if it had any bad reviews and it absolutely did. Nothing but the word scam. I’m afraid that I’ve done given out my personal information to a horrible false company, Whom cannot actually help me during my HARD times.

The worst experience ever!!!!

I signed up for hardship benefits and was told I qualified for the benefits and Internet services, asked a lot of personal questions and asked for income history

I called *211 for food assistance and help with rental assistance.. immediately I began to receive text messages from these [censored], they give you all of these benefit options, which include credit cards same-day loans student loans all this unnecessary stuff I didn’t ask for, and then to access the benefits you have to buy cell phone games, etc. it’s obviously a scam they call me for the last six months text message me and I call them. They’re clearly in the Philippines and they hang up on you when you asked to talk to the supervisor.

They gave me an account number and said I would be approved in 1 to 2 hours through email. I called the number to see if I had really been approved, and when I got on the phone they asked me my full name and address, and reassured me that it's a tough time and they were going to make sure everything was paid. As soon as I saw the confirmation number wasn't matching with the one in the email, I asked them if this was a scam. They asked me if I needed help lowering all my bills as well.

I received this text:

Helping Hands: Action Req. Update Your Hardship Needs Below

https://helpinghandsact.com/retarget/********************** STOP to OptOut

I have never applied to the organization for assistance. I googled it and it seems to be a scam.

They have my SSN.

They say they help with programs such as rental assistance, hardship payments, SNAP and LIHEAP. But what they are trying to do is get you to get a high interest payday loan! They are hounding me with emails and pushy text messages. Scam!!!!! I knew it was as soon as I opened a link to a payday loan. A real government agency would never direct you to get such a loan. They are taking advantage of people searching for legitimate social service sites and food pantrys. This fake assistance company needs to be stopped and shutdown!

I went on the website HelpingHandsAct.com initially to inquire about financial assistance. I was sent an email from [email protected] that said “Congratulations” with a reference number after submitting personal information.

I called the number (844) 703-2745 on the website and spoke with a representative who asked for more information and confirmed on the phone that I was eligible for the financial benefits. They also connected me to a representative at South University by the name Erica Ferguson who was supposedly a financial advisor to get me enrolled in the school and told me tuition would be $92000 for the bachelors program. I declined and hung up.

I then received a text message after the phone call from Helping Hands stating again I was approved for benefits, but I still haven’t received any confirmation for the initial benefits housing benefits I was inquiring about.

It's a hardship program from HelpingHandsAct.com that I believe use people's in information and sales it I've gone through this about 3 time a and the service they promised was never delivered and upon me asking questions about the program and and telling them my preferences they hung up in my face because I refused to talk to another agency asking for more of my information I believe this is a scammer agency covering under helping hands and they are taking advantage of people during hard times and stealing personal information they did not try to console me or assure me with any proof that the program is legit and not a scam and they are there to help just hung up in my face.

They said theyd sign me up for financial assistance then i got spammed with links to sign up for loans and cheap car insurance and cheap internet. I signed up with togetherloans and was approved for $3,000 but needed a cosigner. Come to find out theyve had a lot of reports of them stealing money and not having actual people to talk to just automated systems.

- Kissimmee, FL, USA

They have themselves coming up when you search for RENTAL ASSISTANCE in your county/state, alongside reputable agencies. Total scam. FOR PROFIT company who takes all of your information to "qualify" you, so they can "connect you" with 3rd party agencies to help you. I SHUT THEM DOWN before they could ask me for money.

DISGUSTING that they prey on people who are desperate

I was scrolling on the internet looking through federal and state grants and or agencies that help with utility assistance. I clicked on their link on google as it appeared, as a genuine website. I filled out the information as it said they were many different grants and programs available for me. I realized it was a scam after i got a phone call from someone saying they are calling to see if I qualify for the grants, and the next thing you know, they are asking for my social security number.
