My husband was getting messages on his computer screen warnings that his computer was infected with malware and compromised. He called the number posted and subsequently purchased 3 year protection plan for $299. by electronic check to "Reckmig Inc. for mobile deposit.

Then he received another phone call just recently to say their program was the wrong one, wouldn't help the situation and they would send a refund as a Customer Service benefit. At that point, he gained access to the Apple computer, as well as my pc, saying that our WIFI router was infected and we should turn off our WiFi as well. After we lost power overnight, the representative said he would restart the cleanup, but first wanted to issue the refund. Then he "made a mistake" and accidentally refunded $12, 260 which was displayed on a screen to my husband saying that his bank had "accepted" the funds. Then under the guise that he would lose his job when his boss found out his mistake, he convinced my husband to take the cash out of the bank and send it to him via Western Union. Luckily, after the first 6,000 was sent, Jordan called back to say the address was incorrect and the transaction would have to be resent to a different address in a different state. By this time, the light bulb went off and the first transaction was nullified and the Western Union refunded the cash. The bank confirmed that the 12,000 was NOT deposited and the funds were really our own. At this time, we stopped the running of the supposed "fix" on our computers and filed a fraud complaint with the bank. The names of the companies involved were My Tech and Helpdesk.net, although all these transactions were initiated and conducted by phone. He replaced the toll free number to his personal phone number, which should have been another flag. When I later called the 888 number and asked to speak to the Supervisor, the tech who answered the phone demanded my name, when I asked instead for their website, he refused and gave me a phone number I could text to get an instant reply, I again asked for the website, saying I wanted to recommend their service. He said we don't want you to promote our business, thank you very much and hung up.
