Just a warning. Help for Families is a scam. After 2 calls from them stating that they could get back $8000 from a $10,000 from another scam that my husband were taken for many years ago, I agreed. I fell for this one basically because they knew so much about the first scam and had all the info. After sending them $375.00 as requested, never heard from them again. Unfortunately, I didn't have a number for them since it came across as an out of state number. After reading the other complaint concerning them, it was the same. Wish that complaint was on here when I had looked them up but both were during the same time period.

Received phone call asking me to verify my name. Caller told me I was guaranteed a refund from a timeshare reseller that I had paid $5,869 to in 2007 - 2009 to get rid of my timeshare property. (of which they never did get rid of for me.) I ask what court or who is forcing this guaranteed refund and from what company? Callers' reply: "It's really multiple companies but one owner who changed the name several times ie. 'Resort Equity Marketing,' 'Timeshare by Owner,' 'Timeshare Express,' and other names, but the owner has to refund your money before they can get a license to start another company, but no court involved." Caller then ask me if I was ready to move forward with the refund. Ok, what's next?

Caller said to get the refund, it will take 14-20 business days to complete the paperwork which I would have to sign and date via email. So I gave my email address with the impression I would be getting all the companies info and forms to sign. I opened my email and there's nothing but a link to click on. I ask what it is. Caller tells me they charge a fee of $375, but I would get it back when I receive the $5,869 and they also have a 3 day refund policy if I change my mind, so in fact I would receive $6244 total and the link would open to a check for me to pay the $375 fee. This threw up a RED flag for me, therefore I didn't click on the link, but instead I ask caller for their address, phone #, and website address so I could check them out before I go any further. Caller gave mi the info and a case # for me to get back to them next day by noon. Weeellll the website gives no info on company, just scenarios that could happen to a person that would have lost money and would want help recovering it, and a form to fill in your info to get that help.

I received a call from Laura advising me of a refund that was due to me from over payments to a timeshare realtor. When I returned the call, I spoke to Dolores who stated that I was due $6224 in over payments from the consolidation of "scam" agencies that took my money when I was selling my mother's timeshare. She even had the name of the resort that we were trying to sell. She said she would send me a form to fill out and all I had to do was return it with the $355 "finder's fee" and then they would send the remainder. Of course, when I said that I didn't have the money to spare and would let them just take their fee out of the refund and send me the remainder, Dolores said that they couldn't do that due to the nature of their "charity" business. I think that this needs to be investigated since I received the exact same call approximately 3 years ago.

I received a text rom this company stating I was due a refund because years ago I paid a company to sell my timeshare. $375 upfront fee was required to receive the $5800 refund. We asked for settlement papers, legal papers etc and the answers were vague. There was an online site. I checked with ScamPulse.com who could not get any legitimate information on this company. Second number for scam is 800 933 5910
