Received a text first say parcel packing for my husband and it had his name address and date and time when to be delivered and need a signature. It also list a number if needed to be rescheduled. Well I didn't order anything and neither did he so I called the number to find out what was being delivered. Apparently they claimed my husband owed a debt that he had took out a loan from 2015 and hadnt paid it in full and it has accrued up 2000 and so odd dollars in interest but wouldn't give me any info on where it was supposedly taken out so I had to get him on the phone. They were trying to verify it was him by personal info. Now they already had his name, address and my cell phone number some how. Also had his last four digits of his social and license. They gave me the business name and address which we already knew he didn't do it but we were afraid someone had stolen his identity. Well I called the place they had absolutely nothing on him. So I called the collection place back they gave me some bull about how after they turn them over to a collections agency they take out his info. So I called the company back the girl said no we don't and gave me her bosses number. So I talked to her and told her everything this place had stated and none of it was true and I had already thought this was a scam but wasnt sure because they had all of his information down to his ss# drivers license # and middle name but it turned out they were scamming us. We didn't give any money but these people had all of his info. I called a friend of mine from a lawyer's office and got some advice on what to do. She said most of these type are just looking for a payment and then they'll be a different business the next day. But I was advised to notify ScamPulse.com call the credit Bureau and the sheriffs office. I did a fraud alert on my husband so I would be notified and we will also be doing lifelock for a little while. If anybody ever calls or messages you from a debt collection agency give them no info and don't verify any personal info get the name of the company and also the name of the creditor and do some research. I couldnt even find the collection company anywhere on the internet.
