A person calling himself Sgt Eric Reeds called me on my cell phone; he said the call was being reported; he said that I had not showed up for jury duty and he had a warrant on me for failure to appear - did I want a civil action or criminal action? Of course I freaked out and said civil . He said it was from Dec. 5th - that i was not to hang up the phone or I would be arrested. He said I had two citations; 23-CT-2161 and 51-CT-6122; that a judge Susan A. Conyers had ordered this - that I was to bring two pieces of mail to 20 Franklin Square, N. Britain; that I was to stay on the phone with him when I went there and that I had to pay $993.29 surety bond for both that would be given back to me once I appeared another time ? I finally hung up on him - once he said I had to stay on the phone with him I got suspicious ; but he sounded so legitimate and said if I didn't do this right away I could be arrested. I spoke to a lawyer assistant who called him and he told her the same thing so she told me to do what he said but I decided to speak to the local police, he called him and left a message / another lawyer told me to call the jury administration . But it was really scary and upsetting . Please get the word out about this - he was very official .
