Harris County Sheriff's Office (supposedly)- Impostor Reports & Reviews (1)

- Houston, TX, USA

Message on my answering machine from Deputy Frank Rogers of Harris County Sheriff's Office, 281-740-7532, saying I missed jury duty and a warrant was issued for my arrest. I returned the call about 5:40 pm and was transferred to the supposed deputy. He gave a date of jury summons, date of missed jury duty, and judge's name and said two ciataions had been issued. To avoid arrest before I could appear n court again, I was supposed to do some type of electronic fund transfer. He knew my name, including middle initial. I believed him until I said I wanted to look the information up online and he said if I terminated contact for more than 3 minutes he had to report me to dispatch. I asked more questions, and he said the judge, Paula Goodhart, was a municipal court judge at Harris County Courthouse and could not provide her court number. I ended call and called Harris County Sheriff's Non-emergency Dispatch and was told several people had called about the same scam. Alson, phone number did not "map" to County. This guy did an amazing job until the very end--I almost fell for it.
