Reached out with a job offer, only contact via email or Zoom, offered $35/HR, flexible hours. Sent a W4 form and job contract, they informed me they were sending out a bonus check as well as a computer their IT dept approved with the approved software and instead sent a check for $7,500, $500 of that was to be used for a bonus and the remaining $7,000 was to be used to purchase all equipment from their vendor. The check did not have a memo on it and it was also addressed as the payor being a Texas address and not a company name instead a personal name. And the only phone number provided was out of Pennsylvania
