hansenmainecoon.com is a beautiful website and the photos of the Maine [censored] kitties are adorable. This seller is located in Tucson, AZ. I live in another state. The seller wanted me to pay using Zelle. My bank wouldn't let my Zelle payment go through because there are so many online pet selling scams. I finally persuaded a bank manager to let me make the deposit, which I did. The seller still has this deposit. He won't take credit cards or checks. He can't take PayPal, although his daughter does. He sent me his daughter's email address to send him the rest of the money via her account. That wouldn't go through either. The entire cost of the kitten was going to come to $809, counting the air fare and the courier who would deliver him to my door. I asked him if the kitten had a lineage. He said "yes" and a pedigree too. He said those papers would come with the kitten. The seller, Jared Baber, said he had "registered" the kitten. He said those papers would come with the kitten. He said the kitten had a rabies shot and tested negative for feline leukemia and something else. He said those papers would also come with the kitten. I asked to see the veterinarian's papers before sending more money. He sent me a fake-looking "veterinarian" report. It wasn't on a veterinarian's stationery or veterinary hospital stationery. There was no contact info for the vet. Just an illegible signature at the bottom. I asked him for the vet's name and phone no. Jared did not respond. Later, he asked me for more money and asked me to send him bitcoins. I said I could not do that, and he has not responded. He also has NYS law mentioned on his website, but he lives in AZ. That seems odd. All in all, unfortunately, Jared does not seem like an honest person to deal with. More interested in getting your money than anything else. He never vetted me to see if I would be a good Maine [censored] cat owner. I said I live in a small apartment and asked if that would be okay for a Maine [censored] cat (they are large). He said "absolutely." Too many red flags here.
